The village of Aguerd is located in the High Atlas: a place of amazing beauty, with access to trekking, snow capped mountains, green gardens…

In Aguerd, the villagers wanted to have a local school for children under the age of six, a place where the Berber-speaking children could learn Arabic.  So a marvellous project was put together: AAA joined forces with the local organization, and Thibault de La Laurencie, an architect, and decided to restore a ‘zaouïa’ or shrine, and organize classes in the outhouses of this building. The traditional architecture was restored. The villagers maintain the school teachers, partly with the help of AAA.

The total coast of the school construction with AAA’s contribution was 7000 euros.
AAA participation in school teachers’ salaries: 3960 euros
