The village of Tizi Noucheg is a perfect example of local development. The village is a sort of paradise, set amidst stunning scenery in the High Atlas mountains. Life is difficult there. But a dirt road has been built there, spring water is brought to each house, used water is collected and re-used, and fruit trees are planted…
Anatole France high school, from Casablanca, contributed towards improving the local school. And a women’s organization produces 3000 pots of wild fruit jam each year.
AAA contributes to the salaries of two local teachers there . However, we noticed that many girls could not go to secondary school because of the distance they had to travel – at least three hours a day of mountain trekking. So, in 2016, AAA decided to create a ‘hostel’ for these girls in the village of Aghbalou, where the secondary school is located. AAA provides all expenses, including board and lodgings and the fee of the caretaker woman there. AAA’s total contribution for the school year is 8000 euros.
AAA is working with local organizations, as well as partners like the Anatole France high school and the Berber Ecomuseum of Ourika valley.
